I am a yoga teacher with a passion for Yin Yoga. I am also trained in the original Hot Yoga sequence (26 Hatha poses practiced in 38 degrees) and Gentle Vinyasa. Currently studying Yoga Therapy, I incorporate my knowledge of Yin Yoga and Mental Health studies to provide an experience that will soothe and de-stress your body whilst calming and anchoring your mind.
Having also completed training in crystal bowls, I enjoy bringing instruments and essential oils to my practice to provide a complete feeling of relaxation and nourishment.
I'm currently teaching classes regularly on the Tweed Coast and offer retreats throughout the year.
A slower paced meditative version of the physical and spiritual discipline of yoga. In Yin Yoga, the poses are held for typically 3-5 minutes to target the connective tissues (such as ligaments). Yin Yoga is a wonderful practice to calm the nervous system and reduce stress whilst increasing mobility and flexibility in the body.
Hot Yoga is style of Hatha Yoga practiced in 38 degree heat. It is the same set of postures each time. The heat allows a deeper stretch and has extra healing properties such as detoxification and stress relief.
Yoga helps lowers the heart rate and breathing, lowers blood pressure and cortisol and can have significant effect on reducing effects of depression and anxiety. It can also help increase mindfulness and regulate emotions.
I am passionate about health and wellness and the effect that yoga has on the mind and the body. Having grown up by the ocean in an active family, sunshine and exercise have always been a big part of my everyday life.
